Malongo started out in Nice and has been roasting coffee since 1934. The company now ranks number one on the organic and fair trade coffee markets. We offer quality coffees from the noblest coffee regions, grown using traditional farming methods on small family plantations.

We produce over 8,000 tons of coffee each year. Our quality ethics and the commitment of our personnel are the key to our success. Our unique quality culture is the basis for our values: preservation of the roasted coffee, respect for the men and women growing the plants, plus customer satisfaction.

Malongo is the leading actor for fair trade coffees and bio-coffees. We obtained this status in 1992 with the pioneering commitment of our company. Our values: quality, ethics and innovation are the source of our dynamism and creativity. Malongo is the creator of vacuum packed metal cans, single-origin coffees, and the 123 Spresso® coffee pod system.

During the manufacturing process, our coffees are lavished with care by many expert hands. We demonstrate the same demanding requirements at each stage in the process, from production to the sales force, from logistics to the after-sales service. Our meticulousness and consistency are also what our customers are paying for.

By 2025, Malongo has already built a rich history and offers customers not only a diverse selection of coffee but also organic cocoa and organic tea.

The choice & the quality

Fair trade

MALONGO was the first and is the oldest French firm to use the Max-Havelaar fair trade label. The brand purchased 31 different origins of green coffee under fair trade conditions in 2022, representing 4518 tons, i.e. 83% of its imports. MALONGO fights to advertise and improve fair trade, and invests in the certification of new cooperatives.

Organic farming

More than half of MALONGO coffees and 100% of MALONGO teas hold organic «AB» certification, applying strict specifications guaranteeing that the product was produced without fertilisers or pesticides, among other aspects. MALONGO is organising several training initiatives to promote organic farming and leads agronomic research projects in order to improve productivity while reducing the impact of agriculture on the environment.

Sustainable development, innovation

Renewable energies, waste sorting and re-use, eco-design, responsible packaging, natural paper pods, coffee machine recycling, personnel and supplier awareness: MALONGO has laid down strict guidelines for sustainable development. The new EOH espresso machine is manufactured and assembled in France, is recyclable, sustainable and can be repaired infinitely.
